The Life-Sized Freddy Krueger was an animatronic sold by Spirit Halloween for the 2005 Halloween season. It resembled a replica of Freddy Krueger from the 1984 film, A Nightmare on Elm Street. When activated, it moved its head, eyes, and mouth, while speaking several phrases from the film.

Spirit Halloween’s Description

“One, two, Freddy's comin' for you... to your local Spirit Super Store!!! Standing six feet tall, your Freddy Krueger wears the traditional pants, striped sweater, brown fedora... and, of course, his famous glove! Freddy says ten different phrases that are guaranteed to set the appropriate Halloween atmos-FEAR!”

Specifications:

• Freddy Krueger turns his head and moves his mouth as he taunts you and your guests.
• Button- AND motion-activated!!
• Requires AC Adapter (included).
• Sayings (with various laughter):
  • "I'm gonna split you in two! Ever play 'Skin the Cat'?"

  • "Aww, what's wrong? Did someone have a NIGHTMARE??"
  • "You're mine now, Piggy!"

  • "This Halloween will be the stuff that NIGHTMARES are made of!"

Trivia

• Gemmy Industries made a smaller version of the animatronic that was sold at Kmart and Canadian Tire in 2010-2011.
• In 2006 K-Mart sold this animatronic online and featured it in their “Haunted House” online game as a boss which could be defeated by unplugging the animatronic.
• The 2006 model featured a purple try me button on the base whereas the 2005 version had no button.
• Gemmy personally had Robert Englund come in and record the animatronic Freddy’s lines. An alternate set of takes from this recording session can be heard on the Life-Sized Freddy Krueger (2019) although that version was ultimately not sold by Spirit Halloween.
