The S.S. Rip Tide, related to The Reaper's Wharf, was an In-Store Experience created by Spirit Halloween for the 2019 Halloween season. It resembled two docks holding up a sign reading “Reaper’s Wharf - Live Bait - Fishing Charters - Saltwater Inn”. Behind the docks was an aged freight barge housing a variety of creatures throughout. There were numerous gaping holes around the ship.

The Story[]
The S.S. Rip Tide was originally criticized for having what seemed like a random assortment of animatronics that didn't seem to fit an aquatic theme. According to Mike Kroll, Senior Manager of Visual Merchandise and designer of the theme, there is a story that brings light to this somewhat random assortment of animatronics. The ship is piloted by Captain Jack, better known as Jack the Reaper, the mascot of Spirit Halloween. After many years of traveling and scaring, he has taken up boating with an old crashed ship and is picking up creatures and characters he finds and is bringing them along to spook anyone they can.
References to Past Years[]
- Area 31 - All of the large crates in the ISE had a plate printed onto the top side reading 'Property of Area 31,' a reference to the 2017 back ISE Area 31.
Trivia[]
- The helm of the ship is manned by none other than Spirit Halloween's mascot, Jack the Reaper, who turns the wheel as if Jack is actually steering the ship.
- The ISE was originally thought to be called Reaper's Wharf, due to the entrance sign.
- The official prices for the ISE are as follows: Ship bow: $49.99, Wheelhouse: $49.99, Captain Jack w/ wheel $24.99, Ship deck $99.99. All of the prices can be seen in the gallery.
- The official ISE video was titled ship.mp4 for hours until it was named to Reaper's Wharf. Spirit later renamed the video to its proper title.
- Creepy Towering Clown was usually used as a placeholder for Pennywise.
- At some locations, this was the only ISE.
- A sign on the rear of the ship references The Reaper's Wharf, and states that the latter is located in Atlantic City, New Jersey. This is the first ever time a Spirit ISE has been given an official real life location.
- Some locations featured leftovers of the Sitting Scare Witch as a placeholder for Sitting Scarecrow.
