  • The film used an abandoned Toys r Us location that has been used frequently by Spirit Halloween prior to its usage for the film. The store is located at the Martha Berry Mall in Rome, Georgia.
  • The film was originally intended to be released in 2018, but was pushed back till 2019 and again till 2021. Pre-production began on December 11, 2019 and ended November 29, 2021.
  • In 2019, a "book cover" for the film was released online. This turned out to be an early preliminary concept for the poster. The poster was initially disregarded as a fan made fake due to it containing only one Spirit Halloween animatronic (Rising Swamp Hag), as well as a generic scarecrow prop and a cyberamic Chuck E. Cheese animatronic.
  • The Nightcrawler animatronic was originally confirmed to appear in this film through a comment from a store manager who sent the crew one for a "film project" they were working on. The usage of Nightcrawler matches up with the casting call for a contortionist/acrobat.
  • The film featured a custom theme in the store consisting of a castle ruins type structure with a pumpkin on top that is surrounded by cobweb covered trees.
  • The Blu-Ray of the film included trading cards that were initially released as promotional artwork online.
  • A German dub exists and was titled "Spooky Night - Nachts im Horrorladen".

  • Spirit hosted a sweepstakes tie-in to win $13,000 on their website and was also advertised in store.
