(OO) - Online-Only: An (OO) label attached to a listing denotes the item is only sold on the Spirit Halloween website, and not in Spirit Halloween stores. Note that occasionally a handful of stores will receive online-only items or have them in stock, but overall items marked (OO) will not appear in stores.

(PO) - Pre-Order: A (PO) label attached to a listing denotes the item is currently under pre-order, meaning the item can be ordered now, but will not ship out until a later date. Items falling into this category will always contain the following message in green text on their official listing on the Spirit website: "ORDER NOW! EXPECTED TO SHIP ON OR BEFORE [date].

(SSO) - Select Stores Only: For the 2020 Halloween season, Spirit Halloween purchased a series of animatronics, most designed and released by the animatronic and costume retailer Morris Costumes in previous years, to be destributed across a variaty of Spirit Halloween stores. A listing with an (SSO) label attached falls into this category of animatronics only sold in select stores.

(UR) - Unreleased: A (UR) label attached to a listing denotes the item has not been officially announced or released by Spirit. These items could be found on the Spirit website by haunters, or leaked somehow to the public. These items usually appear as "Sold Out" on the Spirit website."

(CSO) - Currently Sold Out: A (CSO) label attached to a listing denotes the item is currently not in stock, but has been sold at some point during 2020. If the item is not restocked by the time the official 2020 Spirit Halloween season rolls around, the item will officially be considered discontinued and will be removed from this article.

  • The New Arrivals page located under the Animatronics tab on the Spirit Halloween Website has been updated to now read, "NEW HALLOWEEN ANIMATRONICS FOR 2020."

  • All tabs excluding the "Accessories" tab on the header of the spirit Halloween website are changed to read "2020" rather than "2019."

  • The price of the animatronic, Pennywise, is raised to a new price of $279.99, ten dollars more than its original price of $269.99. The animatronic Sam also receives the same ten dollar treatment, increasing to a price of $179.99 from a previous price of $169.99.
  • Later in the evening the animatronic Man's Possessed Friend also falls victim to a new price, being raised to $179.99, ten dollars more than last year's price and twenty dollars more than the original price.

  • The "Online-Only" tags that had previously been placed on all non-returning animatronics have been removed.

May 18

  • A new SVI item is found on Spirit Halloween's website which is called Big Top Terror. The item is later found to be a costume, rather than an unreleased animatronic.

May 20

  • The official "returning sneak peek" for the Sam animatronic appears on the front page of the Spirit website. The animatronic's listing also receives the standard "Pre-Order" header which states the item will begin to ship out on or before the first on July.

  • The Good Guys Chucky Doll is officially announced to be returning for the 2020 Halloween season and also appears on the front page of the Spirit website.
  • Later in the day, multiple haunters report receiving a mysterious email containing a .gif file of a clown with the text "Something is Coming... #spiritsneakpeeks 2020." the email was supposedly deleted soon after. The general consensus appears to be that the gif is fan-made, rather than an official Spirit image, but this is still unconfirmed.

  • Jack Straw’s listing on the Spirit website is marked as and opens for Pre-Order and is expected to ship on or before the 29th of July.

  • The Sitting Scarecrow receives a Seasonal Sale Tag, similar to the Jumping Spiders, and is marked down to $99.99.

  • Upon emailing the official Dr. Zombie email address with an inquiry for information about the 2020 Halloween season, haunter Sean Pearce received a response stating that 2020 sneak peeks will begin in July, with one to two new animatronic releases every week. The response also stated that one returning animatronic will be announced every week for the remainder of June.

  • Haunter, YouTuber, and Spirit Employee Cameron9999 reveals an image of an email he received from a corporate Spirit employee. The email further confirms that sneak peeks will begin in July, also going on to state that stores are on track to begin opening at the end of July or the beginning of August.

  • The Graveyard Ghoul (2019)'s listing on the Spirit website is updated, making the animatronic available for pre-order. It is expected to ship on or before the ninth of September.

  • An email is sent out containing an animated returning teaser for the Doug and Phil Conjoined Zombie Baby, a redesigned version of Doug and Phil DeGrave from 2014. The email also contains a secondary image showcasing stock photos of and purchase links for Goryious, Spider Biter Billie, Hung Up Hank, and Wall Crawler. In addition, the aforementioned zombie babies are made available for Pre-order, with all being expected to ship on or before the twenty-ninth of July, except Spider Biter Billie which is expected to ship on or before the second of September. While not included in the email, Deceptive Dougie also becomes available for pre-order, being expected to ship on or before the twenty-ninth of July. All of the aforementioned zombie babies also receive price increases, rising from the previous $39.99 to $42.99, including Handstand Larry, who while not under pre-order or in the initial email still receives the new price.
  • Later in the day, the official Spirit Halloween Twitter Account begins to respond to inquires about 2020 store openings with a message encouraging fans to "...keep an eye out on [their] Social Media Friday, the 26th, for a spooky surprise!"
  • Haunter GenoHaunter2005 posts photos of new signs that have appeared at the Flagship location. These signs indicate face mask requirements, maximum store capacities, and other necessary precautions Spirit will be taking in relation to the slowing of COVID-19.
  • The Fire Log Skull Set opens for pre-order on the Spirit website. It is expected to ship on or before the twenty-ninth of July.

  • A listing simply entitled "SPIRAL" is found on the Spirit website. It is assumed that this listing and name belongs to the previously unnamed swirling-eyed animatronic.
  • The stock photos for the Unnamed Female Animatronic are discovered on the Spirit website, along with the price and item number. The item is codenamed "GRAPE."
  • Two new tabletop animatronics, the IT Sidestepper and Sam Sidestepper, are discovered on the Spirit website and are open for pre-order, both being expected to ship on or before the second of September. Also at around the same time, the videos for the Clown Toe Tapper and the Spinning Head Harlequin Doll are posted to their respective listings, as well as the stock images of the Trick 'r Treat Flaming Pumpkin being posted on its listing. While the Clown Toe Tapper and the Spinning Head Harlequin Doll remain unreleased, the Trick ' r Treat Flaming Pumpkin does open for pre-order, being expected to ship on or before the twenty-sixth of August.
  • The official name of the Spiral animatronic is confirmed to be named the Peekaboo Clown, and is also confirmed to be ANIM 5542, all via shipping information found on the database of one of the Spirit shipping companies.

  • Two new props, the 6 Foot Rusty Chain and the Rusty Torture Hook, are discovered on the Spirit website. Both are open for pre-order, being expected to ship on or before the twelfth of August.

  • Stock photos for the Unnamed Pig Animatronic are found on the Spirit website. The animatronic is confirmed to be called The Butcher, and is posted to the Spirit website under the code name "POMEGRANATE."
  • The Butcher opens for pre-order, being expected to ship on or before the sixteenth of September.
  • The official teaser video for The Butcher is posted to all of Spirit Halloween's social media sites.

  • Stock photos for the Unnamed Demon Animatronic are found on the Spirit website. It is posted to the Spirit website under the code name "GRAPEFRUIT." The name of the animatronic is later determined to be the Nightcrawler.
  • An anonymous Spirit employee leaks two photos from the ISE instructions for the 2020 Halloween season, each showing a theme. The first image shows Reaper's Island, the front theme for the 2020 Halloween season, and the second image shows the Unnamed Back Theme, which gives new views of multiple animatronics released in the "Something Terrifying" teaser. In the first image, a new Unnamed Cloaked Animatronic can be seen.
  • The Nightcrawler opens for pre-order, being expected to ship on or before the sixteenth of September.
  • The official sneak peek for the Nightcrawler is released.
  • Another image of the 2020 ISE setup booklet surfaces, this time showing the box of the Unnamed Girl with Teddy Bear, revealing her name to be Angeline.
  • A listing for the Looming Clown, an animatronic released at the 2020 Halloween and Party Expo, is discovered on the Spirit website. It is listed under the name ANIM 483.

  • Stock photos for the Peekaboo Clown are found on the Spirit website. It is posted to the Spirit website under the code name "SPIRAL."
  • Multiple 2020 prop an animatronic boxes begin to circulate. These photos include Peek-A-Boo Clown's box, the boxes of the Unnamed Smiling Clown, Unnamed Red-Eyed Animatronic, and Unnamed Rodent Animatronic, revealing their names to be the Fright in the Box, Punctured Pete, and Sewer Varmint respectively, and the box of a new likely static prop, Twisted Tina.
  • The official sneak peek for the Peek-A-Boo Clown is posted to all of Spirit's social medias, following the opening of the animatronic's pre-order. It is expected to ship on or before the twelfth of August.

  • Stock photos for the Unnamed Yellow-Eyed Animatronic are found on the Spirit website. It is posted to the Spirit website under the code name "KIWI." These stock photos reveal that this animatronic is attached to the Unnamed Girl with Blue Blouse Animatronic. While the description and real name are not posted, this animatronic is, for unknown reasons, opened for pre-order, being expected to ship on or before the sixteenth of September.
  • The Unnamed Yellow-Eyed Animatronic's listing is updated, revealing its name to be Little Daisy and the Maestro. The demo video for the animatronic is also revealed.
  • The official sneak peek for Little Daisy and the Maestro is posted to all of Spirit's social medias.
  • The stock photos originally posted to the Peek-A-Boo Clown's listing, which were likely of an early prototype, are replaced with new stock photos showing the final version of the animatronic.

  • Stock photos for Punctured Pete are found on the Spirit website. They are posted to the Spirit website under the code name "HEART."
  • The official demo video for Punctured Pete is uploaded to his listing, as well as the name, height, and description. The name reveals this animatronic to be a constant motion animatronic.
  • Stock photos for the Unnamed Elderly Female Animatronic, along with a demo video, are found on the Spirit website. These are posted to the Spirit website under the code name "ANIM 756." The name of this animatronic is later confirmed to be Miserable Marie.
  • Both Miserable Marie and Punctured Pete open for pre-order, both being expected to ship on or before the twenty-sixth of August.
  • A joint sneak peek featuring both Miserable Marie and Punctured Pete is released on all of Spirit's social medias.

  • Stock photos and a demo video for the Fright in the Box are found on the Spirit website. They are posted to the Spirit website under the code name "CHECKERS."
  • Stock photos and a demo video for the Unnamed Child with Clown Mask Animatronic are found on the Spirit website. They are posted to the Spirit website under the code name "PINEAPPLE." The name of this animatronic is later confirmed to be Johnny Punk.
  • Stock photos and a demo video for the Unnamed Clown with White Eyes Animatronic are found on the Spirit website. They are posted to the Spirit website under the code name "ANIM 945." The name of this animatronic is later confirmed to be Clowning Around. The pre-order for the animatronic also opens, being expected to ship on or before the thirtieth of September.
  • Both Johnny Punk and Fright in the Box open for pre-order, being expected to ship on or before the twelfth of August and the second of September respectively.   • The name of the Unnamed Vampire Animatronic is officially leaked, revealing it to be the Harvester of Souls.
  • The official demo video for the Harvester of Souls is revealed on the Spirit website. Shortly after this, the animatronic opens for pre-order, being expected to ship on or before the sixteenth of September.
  • The official sneak peek for the Harvester of Souls is released on all of Spirit's social medias.
  • Johnny Punk's pre-order tag is removed from his listing, meaning the animatronic is in stock and available for immediate purchase.

  • Mr. Salty officially opens for pre-order, being expected to ship on or before the thirtieth of September.

  • The Instagram user @mexibillystudio posts photos of the price sheets for both of the 2020 in-store themes. The price sheet for the back theme confirms its name to be Jack's Cave.
  • Images of the box of a new static prop, the Swinging Skeleton Boy, begin to circulate on various social medias. Soon after this, an empty listing with the same title as that of the box is discovered.
