The Step Pad, also known as the Foot Pad Activator, was an activation item sold by Spirit Halloween for the 2009 to 2017 Halloween seasons. It resembled a pad designed to be placed on the ground, with a chartreuse background and black letters reading "Step Here." When stepped upon, the animatronic attached would activate.

- The Step Pads are easy to break, due to the mechanic where you, quite literally, step on them.
- From 2015 to 2017, the ISE's used graphics to place over the Step Pads to match the theming.
- From 2011 to 2017, you could purchase the Step Pad in-stores. Although it was sold on the website from 2009 to 2013.
- The store display variant of the Step Pad was made out of a different material and featured an adhesive back side.
- The font used on the Try Me Button was also used for the Step Pad, called Ghoulish Fright AOE.
