The Try Me Button was an activation item sold by Spirit Halloween for the 2011 and 2012 Halloween seasons. It resembled a chartreuse button that read "Try Me". When pressed, it would activate the animatronic that it was hooked up to.

Spirit Halloween’s Description[]

“Make it happen when you hook up assorted animated props with this killer cool "Try Me" button - fools will follow your direction and push the button - mayhem and madness will ensue. For use with animated props as listed in product specifications. Go forth and scare up a frightfully fun Halloween!”

Trivia[]

  • Unlike the Step Pad, the Try Me Button can also deactivate the animatronic during activation.
  • This button replaced the original Try Me Button.
  • These try me buttons were seen in 2010 but weren't purchasable. Spirit Halloween made a Facebook post regarding the release of the try me buttons.
    • "Try Me" buttons - Coming Soon to Spirit Halloween Due to popular demand - You will be able to purchase the "Try Me" button just like we use in our stores. This will work with most of our props. Only $7.99 - Home haunters will find this very useful."
  • After 2012, you could no longer purchase the buttons online but rather in-store. But after 2014, they stopped selling them in-store unless you bought one from the try me button display pieces.
  • The store display models featured a longer cord than the sold variant.
  • The button contains holes and a spot within to house a speaker as well as a battery compartment which was originally intended to play the props audio.
  • This item was reproduced in 2018 by a different company.
  • The font used on the Try Me Button and also Foot Pad Activator is called Ghoulish Fright AOE.
  • This item would've been placed in Sitting Scarecrow and Sitting Scare Clown's bowl but wouldn't be plugged in to them. The reasoning for this was to have them activate by sensor to scare customers. The majority of the stores did this but not all of them.
